Hackathon to Mark Opening of New Capital One Café in Chicago

CapitalOne DevExchange is holding an all-day hackathon on March 25th to celebrate the recent opening of the Capital One Café in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. The event, which will bring together the best developers, designers, product managers, and thought leaders in the area, tasks teams with building unique apps on DevExchange APIs.
The DevExchange mission is to create value and accelerate innovation by helping developers solve problems using Capital One’s technology and expertise, including their Credit Offers, Rewards, and Bank Account Starter APIs. Through their upcoming events, including hackathons like this one, and industry-leading thought leaders offering insights, Capital One DevExchange is a powerful resource for anyone in the fintech space.
The March 25th Hackathon is an invite and referral-only event designed to bring together emerging developers in the Chicago fintech space to work with the DevExchange technologies.
The Hackathon Event
Starting at 8am on March 25th, the Hackathon will task participants to work with a team of fellow developers, UX and UI designers, and product managers to build new apps using the Capital One DevExchange suite of APIs. These APIs include Rewards, Credit Offers and Bank Account Starter.
In addition to CapitalOne DevExchange APIs, the Amazon Alexa team will be on hand to help teams integrate Alexa Skills into their apps. With resources to learn how to build Alexa Skills into new applications, and awards for the best integration of Alexa UX, this offers an opportunity to work with cutting edge voice control technology as well.
Awards for Best Applications
Prizes from the Chicago Hackathon will be awarded in several categories based on the type of API used, the nature of the application and the use of external resources like Alexa Skills. All participants will be given a Swag kit from Capital One DevExchange, in addition to awards for top performers.
