Amazon has announced its annual Alexa developer event for 2022 will be taking place online on July 20, starting at 9 AM PT. This year's event is packed with high-profile speakers from the world's biggest brands; and while there are more than three compelling reasons to attend, we're willing to bet that the top three reasons are enough to convince developers worldwide to attend.

All about Ambient Intelligence

The idea of ambient intelligence (AmI) came about organically and emerged from the success of voice assistants and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. By networking these devices' sensors together, it became feasible to build AI that understands the user's needs within the context of their environment to provide personal, appropriate, and context-aware responses.

Not only that, but AmI can anticipate the user's needs and react appropriately without requiring them to make a request. A simple example would be having AmI turn on the lights for you as you walk into the bathroom.
