Pre-trained language models like ChatGPT have garnered a fair amount of attention lately. These interfaces begin to reveal the potential application of AI in the hands of business and casual users alike, while at the same time lowering the barrier to entering and exploring such platforms.
In this conversation our leading experts discuss the complexity and concerns of enterprises deploying these fascinating AI platforms that may fundamentally change user experiences and open up new business opportunities and avenues for enterprises.
Our data scientists assessed some of the limits of ChatGPT’s conversational ability by conducting a few tests and comparing its answers to those of plan-based collaborative multimodal dialogue systems', like Openstream’s Eva.™

Presented by Dr. Alex Waibel, Professor of Computer Science & Director InterACT at the Carnegie Mellon University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; Dr. Phil Cohen, Chief Scientist, Head-R&D, Openstream.ai; and Sudhir Prabhu, CTO, Wolken Software
As Professor of Computer Science & Director InterACT at the Carnegie Mellon University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Dr. Waibel is known for the time delay neural network (TDNN), the first convolutional neural network (CNN), and other neural learning algorithms for speech and language processing. He built the first dialogue speech translator, JANUS, and the first simultaneous translation service for lectures. His startup, Jibbigo marketed the first speech translator on a phone (later acquired by Facebook). At Facebook, he founded and led the language technology group. Dr. Waibel is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Academy of Sciences of Germany and is the recipient of the Sustained Accomplishment Award from the International Conference on Multimodal Interaction.
Dr. Phil Cohen, Chief Scientist at Openstream.ai, is a world-renowned expert in the fields of human-computer dialogue, multimodal interaction, and multiagent systems. He is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, a Fellow of Association for Computational Linguistics, a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, a past President of the Association for Computational Linguistics, and the recipient of the 2017 Sustained Accomplishment Award from the International Conference on Multimodal Interaction. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, in the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
Sudhir Prabhu is Co-Founder, CTO and Board Member at Wolken Software and is an Experienced Global Technology Leader and Enterprise Applications Strategist specializing in enterprise apps management, development & pre-sales.
